Artist Encyclopedia

Our artist encyclopedia is an alphabetical listings of some of the greatest visual artists through out time. We have tried to include artists from every genre and style. The list of artists began with our ten favorite visual artists and has grown to the point where we have decided to make a full artist encyclopedia. While the majority of the artists are painters, we will be including every type of visual artist. Each artist has been carefully chosen for our art encyclopedia. Some are the most famous visual artists of their field, others may be less well known but still made a strong and unique contribution to the visual arts.

While working on our art encyclopedia, it became increasingly obvious that women and minorities were not given the same opportunities in the art world. We have tried to make a serious effort to include everyone in our encyclopedia of visual artists. We are continually adding more artists to our art encyclopedia so be sure and check back often.

While researching the visual artists for the encyclopedia, we realized how greatly visual and musical artists overlap. This has inspired us to create a musical encyclopedia called "Rock Through the Pages". Rock Through the Pages is inspired by the original acrylic painting by Michael Arnold titled "Rock Through the Ages". We have featured each musical artist listed in the painting in the musical artist encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy the biographies, quotes, videos and artwork featured in both our artist encyclopedia and our musical encyclopedia.
